A JOURNEY THROUGH THE GARDEN and beyond (19 - 23 September)
make visual notes with frottage, collage-assemblage and monoprint, and bundle them into a 'travelogue'.
INSTRUCTOR
Ine van Son was trained as a teacher of textile in Tilburg NL. In 2000, however, she decided to fully focus on her art practice. Here you can view Ine's work: https://inevanson.exto.org/. With this experience of more than 20 years, it is now starting to itch again. Ine would like to share her experience. In September she will therefore take you on a journey through the garden (and beyond).
TRAVEL WITH INE
When Ine worked in Ireland for a while (with little studio space and a lot of impressions) she explored the possibilities of capturing her impressions in a simple way. She experimented with frottage, collage, assemblage and monoprint. All simple techniques that give quick results. She also experimented with bundling the results in artist books.
PROGRAM
In this workshop you will discover different techniques to capture impressions.
Ine will briefly introduce you to the techniques of frottage, collage/assembly and monoprint and how to play with the effects of different materials (paper, cardboard, textiles) and tools (graphite, chalk, acrylic paint). Bundling into a book form is also discussed.
After that introduction, you can get started yourself. You can explore the garden and the surrounding area as a working area.
On Monday you work both the morning and the afternoon.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday you work the morning. You can fill in the afternoon yourself; you can continue to work or explore the area further.
On Friday you can put the finishing touches on your book. Ine is there all day to provide you with tips. At the end of the day, the results of the week are brought together in a small exhibition.
COST
The price of the course week (including accommodation) varies from € 410,- (without overnight stays) to € 650,- depending on stay in a room with or without sink. These prices include breakfast, lunch, welcome dinner on Sunday, closing drinks with snacks on Friday, the use of materials and tools (paper, cardboard, textiles, graphite, chalk, acrylic paint, binding wire, various glues, brushes, cutting mats etc.) and tourist tax.
On Tuesday and Thursday there is the possibility to use a three-course dinner, € 20,- per person.
